Documentation & Guide

About the /clone Generator

The /clone generator constructs commands to duplicate, cut, or move an entire structure or room from a source area to a destination coordinate.

How to Use This Generator

  1. Enter the two diagonal corners of the source structure (begin and end).
  2. Enter the destination coordinates (the lower northwest minimum corner of the target).
  3. Select a mask mode: replace (all blocks), masked (non-air only), or filtered.
  4. Select an overlap mode: normal (separate regions), force (allows overlap), or move (cut & paste).
  5. Copy and run in chat or a command block.

Parameters & Options Explained

Begin & End Coordinates

The bounding box coordinates enclosing the structure to copy.

Destination Coordinate

The minimum X, Y, Z coordinate where the lower northwest corner will be pasted.

Mask Mode

replace (copies all blocks including air), masked (skips air blocks to avoid erasing surroundings), filtered (copies only a designated block type).

Clone Mode

normal (errors if regions overlap), force (allows overlapping regions), move (cuts and pastes: fills source with air).

Practical In-Game Example

Tested & Validated
/clone 100 64 100 110 74 110 200 64 200 replace normal

Duplicates a 11x11x11 building to coordinates 200, 64, 200 with all container inventories intact.

Java vs Bedrock Compatibility

Java Edition:Limited to 32,768 blocks per command. Supports filtered block state matching.
Bedrock Edition:Supports up to 524,288 blocks on high-end devices. Does not support cross-dimension cloning.

Important Limitations & Rules

  • Destination must be the minimum coordinate corner (lowest X, lowest Y, lowest Z).
  • Overlapping regions will fail unless "force" or "move" is explicitly selected.
  • Cannot rotate or mirror structures; use Structure Blocks if orientation changes are needed.
