Practical In-Game Example

Tested & Validated
/scoreboard objectives add Coins dummy "Gold Coins"

Creates a custom money objective named Coins with the display title "Gold Coins".

Java vs Bedrock Compatibility

Java Edition:Supports dozens of automatic criteria (deathCount, health, stat.mineBlock, etc.).
Bedrock Edition:Only supports the "dummy" criteria; stats must be updated manually with command blocks.

Important Limitations & Rules

  • Scores are whole integers between -2,147,483,648 and 2,147,483,647.
  • Objectives will not appear on screen until a display slot is assigned with /scoreboard objectives setdisplay.
